(MY LIFE) This Video Makes Me Laugh Uncontrollably.. Every Time.

So I typically do not laugh when celebrities make mistakes, or show their nervousness, or destroy one of their own songs... If anything, I feel bad for them.. but I make an exception for Kanye West because he is such an arrogant celebrity who acts like he is better than everyone else in the business. Get a life Kanye West!

Watch this video, and at 2minutes and 40seconds, he butchers it. And then at 3minutes and 28 seconds for the rest of the song. At the very end of the video, he says "You Lose", and that in itself is hilarious. If you know this song, you'll laugh. If you don't know this song, you'll still laugh.

I do like the original song, and a few other songs of his, but when it comes to his arrogance, he's annoying.

(MY LIFE) My Constantly Changing Hair *PICTURES*

I am the type of person who gets bored with my hair very easily, so I am constantly changing it. It probably doesn't help that I cut/style/braid/etc my own hair, so I can change it whenever I want. I just grab my scissors or synthetic hair and go wild!

I've been like this since I was young. I just love experimenting with my hair. I haven't done too many drastic changes recently since I am growing my hair out for Locks for Love, but I am definitely getting the change-my-hair itch.

The reason I started cutting my own hair way back in the day was because every time I was done at the hairdressers, I would cry. Literally. I'd want them to do one thing, and the next thing I know, my hair looked like everything I didn't want/expect.

So I decided that at least if I cut my own hair and it turned out wretched, I didn't pay for it. That's when I started cutting my own hair, and I haven't looked back since.

When I was young, I wanted braided extensions so badly. I thought they looked so cool. At the time they cost on average about $600+. Obviously I couldn't afford that type of money. I knew how to braid, so I figured I'd get some synthetic hair for $30, try it out, and if it worked, YAY, if not, I didn't just spend my life savings.

Luckily, they turned out. I started doing my own hair in braids quite frequently, along with other people's hair. I was 16 years old. Here are a few photos of other people's hair I had done.

I remember when I was in college, my friend told me that a girl she worked with (who I had went to high school with), was talking about me and how I clearly don't "know myself" because if I did I "wouldn't change my hair so much". She said something along the lines of, "Can't she just pick one hairstyle and stick with it?" HAH! I guess she was trying to insult me, but when I heard that, I was really more confused than anything. If a person changes their hairstyle, I guess they are confused with the person they are?? I didn't know my hair had such a major impact on her life that she felt like talking about it a few years later after high school.

I say, EXPRESS YOURSELF! If you like to change your hair, or your style, or whatever it is that you do, just DO IT! Don't let anyone get in the way of doing your own thing. There will always be people who will not  like something about you, so why try and conform to someone else's standards?

Long live individuality!

(MY LIFE) I'm Heading Back to School in July, and I CAN'T Wait!

So in July, I'm taking an online class at Niagara College. I will be taking Introduction to Sociology. It was my boyfriend's idea to take a class, and his gift to me. What an amazing gift and an amazing boyfriend! I chose sociology because it sounds really interesting. I had taken psychology as a general elective at Humber College before, and sociology seems to be similar.

so·ci·ol·o·gy/ˌsōsēˈäləjē/Noun1. The study of the development, structure, and functioning of human society.

I went to Humber College a couple years back and received my Business Management Diploma (with honors). I LOVE school... actually, I LOVE LEARNING. I am a bit of a nerd I suppose, but there is something about knowledge and understanding things/life/people/etc. that is so powerful and interesting to me. It's also really going to help me get back on a schedule (I have a hard time waking up at a "normal" time, same with falling asleep). Many people would think this would give me more anxiety, but actually, this is going to help it. I feel so good opening up a text book and learning new things, applying them in real life, and using creative thinking to work on assignments.

Wow; this really illustrates how nerdy I truly am, but I wouldn't want it any other way!

(MY LIFE) Remember When I Said I Was Already Wrapping Gifts for Christmas? *PICTURES*

My boyfriend and I in an edited photo
I had previously posted about my urge to wrap Christmas presents so early. You can view that post HERE. Well, I decided to take a look in my closet to see how many gifts I had so far saved up. I didn't realize I had so many! Here is a photo I took:

There are two laundry baskets full, along with the gifts sitting in the front that wouldn't fit. Like I mentioned in the previous post, I do a lot of online reward programs that do not cost me anything. With those reward programs, I can redeem for free stuff that is sent to me. So usually I'll redeem for something that would make a nice Christmas present for a family member... I wish I could post all the things that are wrapped, but some of my family reads my blog, so I can't. I will tell you a few items though for the family members who don't visit my blog...

I got this Stella Artios chalice gift set for free through the Stella Artios reward program. I'm giving this to my dad and step mom for Christmas. It's such a beautiful set.

I won Apple TV earlier this year. I have no use for it. It retails for $120, and I'm giving this to my dad and step mom for Christmas. I don't enter contests anymore because I've been really busy maintaining my blogs and working on my anxiety, but for those of you who doubt contest winning on the Internet, I am proof that you CAN win.

I got this Blu-Ray DVD for free on GSN. They have a new blu-ray reward every week that you can redeem your points for. My dad will really like this, so I got it for him :)

I could take all day and post photos of different things I have gotten for free online, but I already posted about those programs in the previous post so if you are interested in joining any of the sites, be sure to check the post out.

I also went to Liquidation World. I got my grandma a really nice bath gift set for like, $1.50. LW has blue ticketed items which are 75-90% off. They want to clear these items out, so they are marked ridiculously cheap. Many stores have clearance items or clearance sections with really great items! I also use coupons whenever I can. If a store is selling a certain product for let's say, $2.49, and I have a coupon for $2.00, then I'll get the product for 49cents! How beautiful is that?!

Another smart thing to do is to buy winter apparel as gifts (or for yourself), in advance. When I was at LW, I had seen Toronto Maple Leaf Pink Jersey Shirts (my step mom is nutty for this hockey team). The retail price is over $50.00. LW sells them for $30.00+. I got it for $7.00 since it is considered winter apparel. She'll be getting that at Christmas.

The beauty of it all is that come Christmas time, I will not have to deal with the craziness of holiday shoppers trying to grab the last deal on the shelf, I won't be all stressed out, and I won't accumulate any debts from gift shopping! I just get things as I see them, redeem points throughout the year with different reward programs, and put them in the closet to save for December 25!

(BLOG) Updated the Header and Background.. More Changes to come!

Like I mentioned in the last post, I will be paying more attention to My Complex, Simple Life. That means changes :) I made a header (the thing at the top of the page with the blog title), and changed the background.

I want to add a few things, and do a few changes to this blog to make it look better, easier to navigate, etc. So for the next little while, you may notice things are being moved around, new things added, and older things taken off.  If a page or link is inaccessible, that is because I am editing the blog. Don't fret, everything should be accessible once all the changes have been made.

(My LIFE) Been Busy Working on Overcoming My Anxiety....

It's hard to believe that it has been almost 2 years now that I have been struggling with anxiety. I've come a long way since then, but I still have a long way to go. I recently had received the Midwest Center's program for overcoming anxiety from my boyfriend's mother (how sweet of her :) ). I've been using the program, but am just in the early stages of it. It keeps me super busy though because it has reading material, homework assignments, audio lessons, and a DVD with sessions I have to watch. I'm not complaining though, anything that will help me through this is A-Okay with me! I just wanted to apologize for not updating this blog as much  as I'd like to.

When I had my first panic attack almost 2 years ago, everything changed. I had this really intense fear of leaving the apartment. I didn't even want to go downstairs to check the mail. The thought of leaving the apartment would put me in such a panicked state; so I didn't. I guess I felt that if I stayed at home, there would be less of a chance that I had another panic attack. The apartment was my "safe" place.

Anxiety disorders are a terrible thing to experience at any age, but being a young female fresh out of college, it devastated me. My social life died completely. The career I thought I would pursue had to be put on hold. Even the simplest things like going to the bank to pay bills was out of the question at that time.

Luckily, I'm doing better, and I am getting better everyday. Like I said, I'm not "there" yet, but when I look back at how bad it was, I realize that I've come a long way. I try and go out regularly, though some days it is A LOT harder than others.

Anyways, I thought I'd share that little bit of information about myself. I hope it explains my absence on this blog. I will be posting regularly from here on out at My Complex, Simple Life. How liberating it feels to be able to express my feelings without shame. For so long I had felt inadequate/flawed....

Oh one last thing, with the program, I had to cut caffeine from my diet. Going from almost 2 pots of coffee every day to nothing was a scary process! But now I am all about the tea, and I feel less anxious overall. If you suffer from anxiety, I suggest you try this!
